Congratulations to the Pereloma Fight Academy on their victories in Abu Dhabi
From 20 to 27 July, Abu Dhabi hosted the World Junior MMA Championships. At the event, pupils from the ‘PERELOMA FIGHT ACADEMY’ represented Ukraine as part of a team comprising115 boys and girls aged between 10 and 17.
Over the course of seven days of competition, our young athletes won a total of 15 gold, 19 silver and 36 bronze medals, and for the fifth time were crowned the strongest junior MMA team!
One of the longest-standing beneficiaries of Way of Hearts Foundation – PERELOMA FIGHT ACADEMY team – won 5 medals for Ukraine.
How the foundation helped
The Foundation’s collaboration with the sports school began in 2023: at that time, we helped launch the ‘PERELOMA FIGHT ACADEMY’ in Khotiv village in Kyiv suburbia. At thattime, thanks to funds from Way of Hearts members and partners, we financed a comprehensive renovation of the sports hall and adjacent premises, as well as purchasing all the necessary sports equipment.
This year, the Foundation allocated funds for physiotherapy and medical support for PFA trainees as they prepared for the World Championships in Abu Dhabi.
Why this matters
Thanks to the Foundation’s targeted support, the young MMA school trainees were able to prepare fully for this crucial tournament. They were able to:
- check the health and individual performance indicators of each athlete;
- undergo the necessary rehabilitation where required;
- achieve the highest possible level of physical fitness and head into the competition with confidence.
